My Latest Projects: Doll clothes and another playsuit!

Hello,
These past few days I've been working on all sort of different projects. First of all, I ventured myself to make doll clothes. I found this cute vintage Strawberry Shortcake at a thrift store. I bought it, because I could not resist it's cute face and hair. The doll itself was in great condition. I was a little dusty, but after I washed it, it looked like new.
The doll came with the robe/dress you see on the picture bellow, and I thought it would look much better if I made a new outfit for it. So, I drafted a patterns for the doll, featuring flutter sleeves, and a tiny apron on the front of the dress. Isn't cute?

I think the doll looks 100% better with the new outfit!
I also added a light blue gingham ribbon to the hair, to make it look even cutter :)
I just loved making doll clothes, because it was quick and it gave me almost instant gratification.

Pleated Playsuit ( Remember this one?)
I also made another E+E pleated playsuit (free pattern here). This time I used whimsical owl fabric and light pink and white polka dot fabric. I love how these two fabrics complement each other on this garment. What do you think?
I love everything about this pattern. The front pleat, gathered waist and cuffs make this outfit extra-special!

I also added snaps for easy diaper changing.

And the bow straps are also great!

Thanks for visiting my blog, and don't forget to checkout this free pattern from Elegance and Elephants.

  1. The dress with an owl print looks so cute. It is perfect for your Strawberry Shortcake doll. It would make her look more adorable.

  2. It's beautiful! How did you add the snaps? Did you add any extra fabric to the crotch seams?

    1. Thank you! Yes, I added about an inch of extra fabric on the crotch seam, for the snaps.
