Today, I'm exited to share with you my latest Eleena dress with short sleeves.
I wanted this dress to have a 60's vibe and couldn't decide what pattern/color combination to use. After some thought, I decided to use a mustard linen fabric I've had in my stash for months. I'm satisfied with how it turned out and I think the lack of pattern in this fabric, showcases all the details, this dress pattern has to offer.
I like how the dress hits just above the knee and the inverted front pleat gives it a classic, yet sophisticated look to it.
On the front of the dress, I decided to add a medium sized bow, right at the point where the pleat start. For some reason I felt like I needed to add something on the front, since I didn't add the collar. On the last 2 Eleena dresses I sewed previous to this one, I did add the collar. I love the unique shape of the collar and the retro vibe it give this dress. I'll try to post pictures of the other two dresses soon!
On the back, the pattern has two pin tuck seams at the shoulder, which gives it a nice tailored look. This pattern also has instructions on how to instal an invisible zipper, which I'm sure you will find easy to follow. All the instructions and graphics in the pattern are clear and professionally drafted.
Below, you can see how the back of the dress looks.
Right now the Eleena dress pattern is on sale, so if you have been waiting to buy it, now is the time!

ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning version of the Eleena dress! That bow is so darling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous dress! Love the colour. I agree, plain colours tend to showcase the lines of the pattern so well! A bow is a very sweet addition :)
ReplyDeleteThis dress is absolutely lovely, Maria. I love the color and the addition of the big bow. I was planning to add a big bow near the top, but I think it looks way, way better where you have it! In fact, I love it so much, I just might have to copy you! I hope you don't mind ;)
ReplyDeleteI totally fell in love with the Eleena pattern right now! The bow is so cute and it adds something special to the whole dress.
