Hoppe - Blog Tour

Have you heard about the awesome new pattern form An of Straight Grain?! If not, then you are missing out. Hoppe is a jumsuit pattern that was designed in collaboration with Fabienne from the blog 128. It comes in two styles (with or without a front pleat) and you can choose to make it with halter straps or shoulder straps. It is sold in PDF format or in paper form and it's designed for sizes 18 months to 12 years (what a great size range, right?).

I made both styles and chose to make both with halter straps. On this first one, I did a little modification to the halter straps, where I twisted them and sewed them on the back to make them cross. I didn't alter the length of the straps at all though. I think it looks pretty cool and it's a great alternative if your daughter doesn't like to have a knot on the back of her neck. :D

For this one, I used some medium weight spandex knit, which was perfect for this pattern and super comfortable too! I also sewed inseam pockets on both, since my daughter is always looking for places to put her treasures in. ;)

For the second jumpsuit, I made it with the pleat and I love how I learned a new trick to make this style. It seams like every time I sew a pattern from An, I learn something new. At first it was a little tricky to understand the concept of how to sew the pleat, but once I read it about 3 times, I was able to figure it out! I love love how the seams are concealed on the bodice part. It makes it look professionally finished!

I was practicing my "ring of fire" light trick here (above picture). I seams like I need more practice, but I still like the effect it gave the picture.

My daughter loves her jumsuit and now my son is complaining, because he wants a jumpsuit too. I have to figure out a way to make it boy-ish, or maybe I'll make him pants out of this pattern. I'll post it here if I end up making them. :D

That is al for today. Thank you for visiting my blog and don't forget to go check out An's shop if you would like to buy this awesome pattern. ;)
