This past month, I had the opportunity to test the Verona dress pattern from Jennuine Design.
This dress is so cool! I mean, it has a fully lined bodice, enclosed elastic on the back, 3 variations for the sleeve, a double layer skirt and an awesome retro-looking collar. Oh, and not to mention the HUGE size range it includes (newborn to 12 years).
I added the bow on the pocket.
The dress features notches throughout the design, which really gives it a unique look. It has a notch on the back neckline (for the bigger sizes), notches on the pockets, collar and cap sleeves.
It is unique, comfortable, easy to wear and perfect for any casual event. You can make it more or less dressy depending on which fabric you choose to use.
My niece, is a huge Monster's High fan, so naturally I had to go and buy special fabric for her.
She really loved the dress and that means a lot, since she has always been very picky with what she wears.
For my daughter, I used a cute Strawberry Shortcake fabric which had been in my stash since last summer. She also loved her dress and is now her favorite dress.
I also found this pattern to be easy and quick to sew. Jennifer, gives really good instructions and illustration on her pattern, so you won't have any problem sewing this dress for your little princess.
In this pattern, Jennifer also shows an easy technique for making this a fully lined bodice with a professional finish.
Anyway, I'll just let the pictures do the talking and if you would like to purchase this pattern go here.

I love both the character prints to suit your niece and daughter's personalities! And that pouty duck lips shot is so adorable! Thanks for testing with me!
